It diffuses the emitted light by scattering it over a large area rather than emitting the light from one small point like an incandescent bulb or other types of LEDs (light-emitting diodes).

Diffused LEDs are most often used in commercial and industrial settings because they can be seen from a long distance away and provide bright lighting for large areas.

Clear LEDs

Another difference between diffused and clear LEDs is their color temperature, which refers to how “warm” (yellow) or “cool” (blue) light is.

Diffused LEDs tend to have a higher color temperature than clear LEDs, meaning diffused lights are often warmer and less harsh in appearance while clear LED lights emit cooler temperatures that can sometimes take on an icy or bluish tint

The lower the number of kelvins used when describing the color temperature of a light, the “warmer” or more yellow it is.
